Delivering an Acknowledgement of Country empowering people with knowledge.

In Australian culture, delivering an Acknowledgement of Country at the start of gatherings or meetings holds immense significance. However, encouraging individuals to offer personal and authentic acknowledgements without fear of being disrespectful can be challenging. Accenture Australia enlisted the help of CoBox to empower its employees to deliver a respectful and meaningful acknowledgement with confidence.
The narrative itself was delivered by Accenture people representing different regions across Australia. I chose to film using cutting-edge, immersive LED Volume technology, allowing the crew to capture our busy senior Accenture people, all from the studio setup based in Alexandria, Sydney.
An art piece by Saretta Fielding, “Mariyang Yapung - Onward Path,” was commissioned by Accenture and tells the story of commitment to change and reconciliation. My vision was to harness the power of this artwork and explore its layers of symbolism with elements animated and woven throughout the narrative video. To achieve this, I worked closely with Art Director Brendan Cook to help unite the live action and animation with a spectacular recreation of the artwork components.
Below is a video showing the creative process to approach the animation in a very cinematic way by replicating the rich texture and dimensionality of the physical artwork using the procedural power of Houdini to give each paint stroke a unique character, then using the Octane physical renderer to photograph the digital artwork to replicate the feel of a real object being filmed.
